| Modern civilization has barely touched
this agro-pastoral tribe from southwestern Ethiopia, where the women
all dress in skins and pelts, decorated with beads, cowries and metal,
and the men still proudly wear their hair bun and scarification that
denotes the killing of an enemy. Body scarification (deliberate creation
of scars) and lip and ear piercing are prevalent among this group.
This bride has decorated her skin and hair with a mixture of ochre
and animal fat. |
