Biography: Freeman is a master sculptor. He is an especially
talented artist when it comes to sculpting portraits. He was born
in 1960 in Chiponga District (Zimbabwe) and began carving in 1976.
His work is highly sought by collectors in Europe & the United
States.
Verdite is a rare semi-precious stone found only in southern Africa.
It is a quickly diminishing resource and ranges in color from golden
browns to rich emerald greens. It is harder than granite! Only the
most skillful sculptors will carve verdite, as it is an expensive
stone for them to buy from the mine, so they cannot afford to make
a mistake on it!
