Biography: Lincoln Muteta is a native of Harare, Zimbabwe, where he began to sculpt while still in school. He worked under sculptor Danny Kanemba, another prominent sculptor. His cousin, sculptor Moses Masaya, encouraged him to pursue a full time career as a sculptor.

Muteta's work shows a great respect for the Shona culture itself, as well as an active imagination. He says, "I guess God gave me the courage and the talent to sculpt so as to bring back our vanishing cultural heritage for the sake of future generations."
