Lusaka & Lilalyi Lodge
Lilayi Lodge, only 20 minutes
drive from Lusaka, provides the ideal setting to begin and end
your safari. Set in a 700 hectare game ranch the lodge offers
luxurious accommodations close to Zambia's capital city.
The Lodge is designed in traditional
style with thatched chalets, one of which accommodates the lounge,
bar, and dining area. Set in very attractive parkland with a sparkling
pool, the lodgeis designed for comfort and relaxation with particular
attention to excellent cuisine and service.
A stay at the Lodge will give
you the opportunity to see up to sixteen varieties of antelope
from the ubiquitous Impala and Waterbuck, the more common Puku,
Eland and Kudu or the rarer Roan and Sable Antelope. The game
farm also has Giraffe. These can be tracked on foot or viewed
from our specially adapted safari vehicles. You are bound to see
the picturesque Burchell’s Zebra and a lucky night drive might
surprise Civet, Serval or Porcupine, or, if you are very lucky,
Aardvark or Pangolin.
The habitat is original Miombo
or Mungu woodland with open areas reverting to Acacia or Bauhenia.
This, along with two large dams, supports a prolific bird population
– over 300 species have been identified including woodland, wetland
and grassland species, many raptors and a range of migrants. Bird
calls in the early morning and evening are a delight, particularly
Heuglin’s Robin, Turaco, Cuckoo, Guinea Fowl and Francolin.
At the end of your trip, depending
on the time you have left to spend in Lusaka, the following visits/activities
will be available:·
- Namakwande Art gallery·
- Zambia National Museum·
- Munda Wanga Environmental Park·
- Northmead Market·
- Soweto Market·
- Manda Hill Plaza·

The last four locations on this
list will give you ample shopping opportunities and your trip
will be crowned by a fabulous going away dinner.
