Lower Zambezi National Park
General
Overview
Lower Zambezi National Park is Zambia’s newest
park and so is still relatively undeveloped. It’s beauty lies
in its absolute wilderness state. The park is a rift valley, rich
in vegetation due to mineral rich volcanic soils, creating a beautiful,
lush landscape.
Wildlife
Lower Zambezi National Park has a notably abundant
elephant population. Buffalo, crocodile and hippo are also common.
Lion, leopard and spotted hyena are the major predators in the
park. The valley is also host to waterbuck, kudu, zebra, impala,
eland, warthog and the Samango monkey. The birdlife along the
riverbanks is exceptional.
